Aloha and Welcome to Sustainable Island Products
Sustainable Island Products is a family-owned, Hawaii-based distributor of eco-friendly, compostable, and recyclable glass products. We offer sustainable alternatives to many single-use items routinely used in, restaurants, grocery stores, schools, hotels, and offices.
SIP supplies businesses with compostable cold cups, deli containers, hot cups and soup containers, cutlery, plates, clamshells, napkins, paper towels, pizza boxes, as well as, glass bottles and jars.
Hawaii is unique and diverse, and we feel strongly that our responsibility is to do everything we can to protect our island home. For this reason, we recently became a Certified B Corporation, striving daily to find new ways to be more economically and environmentally sustainable. (Take a look at Sustainable Island Products B Impact Report here.)
We also believe our legacy must be intimately linked to environmental stewardship, creating a positive social impact, and fostering a healthy Hawaiian economy. That’s why we guarantee our products for their compostability as well as their performance.
But our commitment to a sustainable Hawaii extends beyond our product offerings.
Investing in a Greener Oahu
We give back a minimum of 20% of our profits to social, education, and environmental cause organizations throughout Hawaii. We also offset our shipping, delivery and utilities-based carbon emissions through landfill gas capture, renewable energy products, and farm power projects.
Twice a year, our Cups for a Cause program designs custom cold cups that highlight local environmental and social non-profits. The cups raise awareness for each group’s important work, and we further support those efforts with a donation of $2,000 from cup sales to each highlighted organization.
About Our Products
All of our products are compostable, meaning they can be mixed with food waste and composted at an industrial facility where they will break down in 12 to 16 weeks or less.
Compostable products are more desirable than biodegradable or recycled products. Biodegradable products have no set timetable to break down once returned to nature, and only 10% of all plastics are recycled in the United States. About 25% of plastics placed in recycling bins still wind up in landfills due to contamination.
With a dedicated team already established on Oahu, SIP provides quick and friendly island-wide service to key centers such as Honolulu and Waikiki, Kailua, the North Shore, Pearl City and Waipahu, Kapolei, and many other nearby towns and areas.
We offer more than 450+ products and can provide delivery to any address in Hawaii in 48 hours or less.
